semisoberme asked: Going to make Rusty Nail for the first time. Could you please recommend Scotch which would work best with Drambuie? Any thoughts on proportions? To stir or not to stir? Thanks.
I would recommend a single malt or blended Scotch that isn’t too expensive, nor overly sweet on the palate, since this is already a fairly sweet drink. Glenlivet or Johnny Walker Black will do. Rather than making the drink overly sweet with a 1 to 1 ratio, add ½ oz Drambuie to 2 oz of Scotch. Add some Angostura and Lemon oils to round things out. Stirring should happen if you want it chilled, diluted, and integrated properly. Cheers!
Work hard, stay humble, and keep telling yourself it will all be worth it in the end.
